SPONSORING A NEW FESTIVAL
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All new festivals must be approved and setup through the State Festival Chairman and be assigned a festival identification number. In order to hold an NFMC District Festival using the Festival Bulletin as a guide, certain requirements must be met and all dues and fees along with a bit of paperwork are required. The local Festival Chairman is responsible for organizing and producing the festival event, verifying participant membership status with the State Treasurer, setting the festival budget and fees to cover festival expenses, collecting participant fees as well as festival cup fees, and preparing the national/state required event and festival cup reports. The event report and national/state fees are forwarded to the State Festival Chairman by April 1st State of each year. “Participant” fees as well as “Festival Cup” fees are entirely separate from “Membership” dues and fees.
PARTICIPANT FEES and FESTIVAL REPORTS
Festival participant fees are required. Student entry fees MUST include state and national fees as outlined below in order to hold a Federated Festival. Each festival has its own bank account to collect and manage entry fees and pay festival expenses. Each festival must be self-supporting. The festival bank account has specific requirements for setup and must be obtained through the TFMC State Treasurer. Completing the required festival report and collecting required participant fees are the responsibility of the local festival chairman and should be mailed to State Festival Chairman by May 1st each year. All report forms and pertinent information is sent to local festival chairmen at the beginning of each festival season. Festival Entry Fees should include participation and cup fees as well as festival expense fees.
CURRENT FESTIVAL PARTICIPANT FEES--$1.00 state participant fee PLUS $2.75 national participant fee (TOTAL $3.75)
FESTIVAL CUP FEES AND REPORTS
The Festival Cup Program is option, however, most students do participate. Festival Cup reports and fees are prepared and collected by the local Festival Chairman and due to State Festival Cup Chairman by May 1st.
CURRENT FESTIVAL CUP FEE--$4.00 (This is the only optional fee—some students do not participate in the cup program.)
